Late Monday afternoon, a violent attack occurred in Privas (Ardèche), near the Vincent-d’Indy high school. An 18-year-old high school student was stabbed several times and hit by another student, aged 17, the city prosecutor’s office said on Wednesday. According to authorities, the victim’s life is not in danger, but she was hit in the thigh and also received “a series of punches.”
The altercation took place around 5:15 p.m., in the middle of the street. Despite his injuries, the victim managed to flee and find refuge in a nearby aquatic center. There, she was rescued by lifeguards before being taken care of by firefighters. The latter described his state as “relative emergency”.
A case of harassment
The alleged perpetrator was quickly arrested by the police and placed in police custody. She was then placed under judicial supervision, pending an appearance in children’s court on March 18.
According to initial information provided by the prosecution and confirmed by the regional daily Le Dauphiné Libéré, the attack would be linked to “a case of harassment”. However, the prosecution did not give further details on the origins of the dispute between the two young girls. An investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances of this incident and to clarify the context of harassment mentioned by the alleged perpetrator.
