Liputan6.com, Jakarta – The blocking of TikTok and CapCut in the United States (US) apparently had an impact on one of the popular card games under ByteDance, namely Marvel Snap.
On Saturday evening, January 18 2025 local time, a number of gamers reported that the Marvel Snap game was blocked and could no longer be accessed at all.
Not only that, a number of gamers also discovered that the Marvel universe card game had also disappeared from the App Store and Google Play.
Although created by California-based studio Second Dinner, the Marvel Snap game is published by Nuverse, a company owned by ByteDance. This is what made him also affected by the US blocking policy.
“Unfortunately, Marvel Snap is temporarily not available in the US app store and is not available to play in the US,” wrote Second Dinner on account X, quoted on Sunday (19/1/2025).
The game studio added, “This came as a complete surprise to us and to our publisher Nuverse. Marvel Snap was also impacted by TikTok being blocked on Saturday evening, January 18.”
The developer says it’s not going anywhere, and is working to get the Marvel Snap game ready for play again. “We will update you once we have more information to share.”
Unlike the blocking of TikTok and CapCut, gamers did not receive an official warning before Marvel Snap was blocked. Many admitted they didn’t know this game was related to ByteDance.
Additionally, although the PC version of the game is still available on Steam, a number of users reported difficulty logging back in after they quit the game.
The blocking of Marvel Snap certainly makes many gamers anxious and annoyed, considering that many of them have invested time and money in the game.
Until this news was written, it was not known for certain when the Marvel Snap game would be available again on the App Store or Google Play.
