If this year you want to take the step towards your own home, the Institute of the National Housing Fund for Workers (Infonavit) is designed to support you. This organization grants loans to Mexican workers, allowing them to buy, build or improve their home.
All people who have worked in jobs with social benefits have accumulated savings in the Infonavit Housing Subaccount. This resource can be used when applying for a mortgage loan. Besides, Savings in this subaccount generate returns annually, protecting their value against inflation and ensuring that your money grows until you decide to use it for your home or even to supplement your pension when you retire.
If you don’t know how much you have saved, checking your balance is easy. You just need to enter the digital platform My Infonavit Account at micuenta.infonavit.org.mx. Here you can access with your username and password, as if it were online banking, to review all the contributions made by your employers.
If you are not yet registered, you can do so for free and without intermediaries. You only need to provide your Social Security Number (SSN), CURP, RFC, email and phone number, in addition to entering an authentication code. Once registered, go to the “How much savings do I have” section to verify the total accumulated in your Housing Subaccount or download the “Summary of Movements” for a more complete detail.
