“The Jalisco avocado has positioned itself for its quality, in addition to the fact that the United States is governed by sizes. They prefer large fruit and the Jalisco avocado offers that standard and degree of maturity.“It is a fruit that has a longer shelf life,” explains Jesús Michel Espinoza Rosales, director of the Association of Avocado Exporters of the State.

Despite the inclement weather this year, avocado producers in our State hope to increase their production this year compared to last year.

In addition to the United States (its main market), Jalisco avocado is exported to Canada, Japan, the Middle East and some countries on the European continent.
“From 2022 to date, the main destination for Jalisco avocados is the United States, due to the issue of proximity, due to the issue of logistics and the issue of the costs paid in the US market.”
In Jalisco The avocado industry generates more than 12 thousand direct and 22 thousand indirect jobs and there are more than 22 thousand hectares located in areas free of pests that affect this fruit.
