The phone will continue to ring. The Independent Commission on Incest and Sexual Violence Against Children (Ciivise) renewed its partnership agreement with the Feminist Collective Against Rape (CFCV) on Friday, January 10, in order to maintain the helpline for victims of sexual violence in childhood. This number, 0 805 802 804 (free, Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.) received 1,800 calls in 2024, and 7,000 since the launch of the call for testimonies in 2021, details Ciivise in a press release.
The people who contact this helpline are predominantly women (four-fifths). “5% of calls on this line are calls from protective parents, mainly mothers, who are going through a real ordeal” to try to protect their child from incest, explained Emmanuelle Piet, doctor and president of the CFCV, at a press conference. The collective has made 700 reports to the authorities over four years, including 247 in 2024.
