On the other hand, Palworld, a popular game often called “Pokémon with guns” is increasingly attracting the attention of global gamers.
Created by Pocketpair, Palworld initially launched on Windows PC, PlayStation (except in Japan), and Xbox platforms.
However, now the Pokemon game with this weapon is ready to hit mobile devices in the near future.
Despite facing lawsuits from Nintendo and The Pokémon Company for alleged patent infringement, Pocketpair is continuing with its expansion plans.
Krafton, the famous publisher for PUBG, confirmed that it has obtained a license to bring Palworld to the Android and iOS platforms.
“We wanted to reinterpret the fun and core elements in Palworld to fit the gaming experience on Android and iOS,” said Krafton, as quoted from The VergeThursday (3/10/2024).
Palworld was first released on PC and consoles in January, where millions of players explored the Palpagos Islands while capturing various creatures. With unique gameplay and stunning graphics, this game was an instant hit.
However, Nintendo challenged Pocketpair alleging it violated Pokémon-related patents. Pocketpair emphasized, “We are not aware of the specific patents we are accused of infringing,” although the legal debate is still ongoing.
Meanwhile, Palworld’s release on PlayStation 5 has been delayed in Japan, but anticipation continues to build ahead of its arrival on the mobile platform.
Is Palworld able to face these legal challenges and achieve success on mobile devices? Only time will tell.
