The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) reported the capture of Adrián Mauricio N., former director of the Public Security Directorate of Nicolás Romerowho is being investigated for his alleged involvement in kidnappings for extortion.
The arrest took place this Friday afternoon in the town of Zamora, Michoacán, as part of Operation Enjambrea joint strategy between federal and state authorities. According to the FGJEM statement, the former official was taking refuge in a home in that area until his arrest by state police agents.

Adrián Mauricio N. is identified for his probable connection with various crimes, particularly kidnappings for extortion purposes, that would have occurred in the State of Mexico. It has not yet been confirmed whether he will face additional charges or if he is linked to other cases under investigation.
This arrest is part of Operation Enjambre, a strategy implemented by the Mexican Prosecutor’s Office to locate and prosecute public servants involved in illicit activities. This operation is expected to continue in the coming weeks with the aim of capturing other suspects who have managed to evade the first interventions or who are considered priority targets.
