Since the beginning of the calendar year, Netflix has been one again Love is Blindseries richer. In the new series, Love is Blind: Germany (2025– )we see how German singles ‘blindly’ search for their great love. The series has been a big hit on the streaming service since release and currently ranks ninth in the top ten most-watched non-English-language series.
Does this work in Germany?
Love is Blind: Germany follows the same format as the previous versions, including Love is Blind (2020– ), Love Is Blind: UK (2024– ) in Love is Blind: Sweden (2024– ). Can love really be blind in Germany too? The German version of the well-known reality program is presented by Stephanie Brungs and her husband Christian Wackert. Brungs is a well-known German TV presenter and sports journalist, who became known for her work at Sport1 and later as a presenter of programs such as Punkt 6 and Punkt 12 at RTL. Chris Wackert is an experienced TV presenter, best known as the face of Sat.1 Frühstücksfernsehen, where he has worked for many years. The couple has been together for more than 10 years and has been married since 2019.
The first reactions
There was great enthusiasm worldwide when the German version of the program was announced, but doubts have now arisen. Although the final episode has yet to be released, it already seems that the results will not live up to expectations, much to the disappointment of many Netflix subscribers. For many, the series does not seem to provide the ending they had hoped for. In addition, there is criticism of the selection of the candidates: are these even the right people for this experiment?
Anyone who would like to clear his or her head with a drink Love is Blind: Germany binge watching, will have to be patient for another week. The first eight episodes can now be seen, the finale will follow on January 17.
