“Screen Cat”, a healing placement pixel game developed by Vorh Games, was released on Steam on January 7. The game provides interfaces in 9 languages including Simplified Chinese. It received 200 90% positive reviews before the deadline of this article.
One of the features of “Screen Cat” is that it is cheap. The original price of the game is only 22 yuan. Another feature is that you can customize different types of cats. There are currently 11 colors to choose from, from stripes to three-flowered, white, black, Burgundy… Find the look you like and adopt it with one click, and give it a cute name.
Similar to human snoring, cats will emit low-frequency “purring sounds” when they are relaxed. After naming the kitten, “Screen Cat” can also set the purring sound it makes (there are currently 4 types available), adjust its volume, and make it Perfectly blends into background sounds.
Then the kitten appears on the desktop, with a “nest” attached next to it. The cat will walk around the screen, accompanying the player on the computer, observing the cat’s antics and enjoying its affectionate purring at any time.
There are three values on the kitten, including sleep/hunger/mood. Players should not forget to feed it at the right time, care for it, touch it, or coax it to bed.
Although the cat can roll up and sleep in any corner of the screen, when it blocks the view, it can be moved through the “one-click return to bed” function.
“Screen Cat” has a built-in mini-game. You can use the mouse to tease the kitten and let it chase the mouse across the screen. The longer the chase time, the higher the score. As time goes by, its running speed will become faster and faster.
When the scores appear, the “ranking list” will pop up simultaneously, but currently it seems that all of them are zero points, which seems to have no actual competitive effect. In addition, there is a “Collectibles” function that has not yet been implemented and will be completed in future updates.
The developer said that he made this game because he was inspired by the cats at home. He also shared a photo of his owner in the development diary: a curly-eared cat with bright orange fur. “Thank you for your support!”
“Screen Cat” is currently on sale on Steam for 19 yuan, and the new product discount ends on January 14th.
