With “warning” banners that urge consumers to avoid purchasing gasoline at stations where the price of regular gasoline exceeds 24 pesos per liter, Iván Escalante Ruiz, head of the Federal Consumer Prosecutor’s Office (Profeco), began this operation .
In Monterrey, Nuevo León, the installation of these blankets began in various gas stations, an operation that will be carried out in all gas stations in the countrywith the purpose of encouraging regular gasoline prices to remain between 23 and 24 pesos per liter.

The tarps that were placed this Thursday at three service stations in Monterrey, Nuevo León, have the legend: “Do not fill up here, the barrier with the prices at this gas station is blown up”, however, this does not prevent them from continuing to operate.
In Monterrey, Escalante Ruiz said: “This is a call and a recognition to the gasoline stations who heeded the request of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and adjusted their pricesbecause they go up and down their profit indicator”.
In addition, the attorney said that he carries out review visits at service stations in which minutes are drawn up to ask for documentation to justify the price increase, for which they are given a period of 24 hours to provide that data.

On this first day, “warning” banners were placed at Mobil, Mi Gasolina and Chevron gasoline stations in Monterrey.Nuevo León, and in some service stations in Durango and Guanajuato.
The Attorney General said that the tarps and “warning” seals will be removed if the managers of the gasoline companies justify the gasoline prices.
