According to the National Minimum Wages Commissionthe minimum daily wage of a mechanic specialized in the repair of cars and trucks in the General Minimum Wage Zone is from 332.17 pesos, while in the Northern Border Free Zonethe daily salary is 419.88 pesos.
If we calculate monthly income considering 30 days of the month, a mechanic in the General Minimum Wage Zone would receive a monthly salary of approximately 9 thousand 965.1 pesoswhile in the Northern Border Free Zone, The monthly salary would amount to 12 thousand 596.4 pesos.
This adjustment in salaries seeks to improve the living conditions of workers and guarantee fairer remuneration compared to increases in the cost of living. However, despite these salary increases, high informality in this sector continues to be a significant challenge.
