María del Rocío Mejía Flores, general director of Financiera para el Bienestar (Finabien), presented during the morning conference this Friday, the Financial Support program for Indigenous and Afro-Mexican Artisan Women (MIAA).
In this program, direct support will be provided for individuals from 10 thousand to 50 thousand pesos, while for groups or cooperative societies from 50 thousand to 300 thousand pesos.
Mejía Flores explained that the MIAA will begin with an amount of 500 million pesos contributed by Financiera para el Bienestarwhere it is estimated to grant 12 thousand individual supports and one thousand supports for solidarity groups or cooperative societies.

“What are we looking for? Reduce the financial gap between men and women, between regions and between populations, preferably in traditionally marginalized regions of the country and such as the indigenous and Afro-Mexican nation,” said the head of Finabien.
He also reported that in February the dissemination of the requirements and mechanisms for access to the program will begin; Starting in March, the reception of support requests will begin, and starting in the second quarter, the dispersion of resources will begin.
