A polar air mass will cause cold to frigid air this Friday in much of Mexico, reported the National Weather Service (SMN), official climate source of the Government of Mexico.
This day, The second winter storm has weakened to a polar trough extended over the northwest and north of the national territory and, in interaction with the polar jet stream, will keep the environment cold to freezing.and rains and intervals of showers in these regions, as well as very strong winds with gusts of up to 90 km/h over entities of the Mesa del Norte and the Mesa Central; Likewise, conditions for snow or sleet will prevail in the mountains of Durango, Chihuahua and Coahuila, in addition to freezing rain in Zacatecas and Nuevo León (north).
Besides, cold front No. 22 will move quickly over the northeast and east of the countrycausing rain with showers in these regions, with occasional heavy rains in Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí and Veracruz.
The polar air mass that will push to the front will generate a strong to very strong “North” event with wind gusts of up to 90 km/h in Tamaulipas and Veracruz, in addition to maintain the cold environment during the morning and night over entities in the northeast, east and center of the Mexican Republic.
Finally, The entry of humidity from the Pacific Ocean will cause rains and intervals of showers in areas of the west, center, south and southeast of Mexico, with heavy occasional rains forecast in Guerrero.

| Isolated rain (0.1 to 5 mm): | Sonora, Sinaloa, Durango, Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Coahuila, Querétaro, Mexico City, Tlaxcala and Campeche. |
| Falling snow or sleet: | Sierras of Durango, Chihuahua and Coahuila. |
| Freezing rain: | Zacatecas and Nuevo León (north). |
Heavy rains may be accompanied by electric shocks and hailwhich could cause an increase in the levels of rivers and streams, landslides, flooding and flooding in low areas of the indicated states.
Strong wind gusts could topple trees and billboards.
Fog banks could reduce visibility.
