It is a tragedy that makes no distinction between anonymous people and celebrities: the violent fires which have ravaged the west of Los Angeles (California) since Tuesday January 7, 2025, have pushed local authorities to evacuate tens of thousands of people. residents… including some of the stars who live in its most luxurious neighborhoods.
Several of these television or cinema personalities have also documented, on their social networks, the violence of the drama which affects them. Paris Hilton, for example, shared a video on her Instagram account showing the ruins of her Malibu house.
“Being in front of the news and seeing, live, your house burning is something that no one should experience,” laments the 43-year-old star in the caption, adding that “even though this loss is terrible, I am grateful for the fact that my family and pets were brought to safety.”
Actress Jamie Lee Curtis, whose home is also threatened by the fire, first wanted to reassure her fans on Instagram.
The actress of True Lies et A Fish Named Wanda wrote: “My family is safe, but friends will lose their homes (…) It’s a terrifying situation (…) thank you to the good Samaritans who help people get out of the fire.”
Distraught stars
Among the other personalities who have spoken out about the threat to their homes (or their emergency evacuation) are actors Mark Hamill (the Luke Skywalker of Star Wars) and James Woods (Once Upon a Time in America, Virgin Suicides), Mandy Moore or the ex-reality TV star The Hills Spencer Pratt and his wife Heidi Montag, who posted a heartbreaking video on TikTok.
French people are also affected by these evacuations. Laeticia Halliday, who lost her home in Pacific Palisades, also expressed her dismay on Instagram.
“I saw our house go to ashes, helpless in the face of the flames which took everything away (…) We are devastated but together, we will try to be reborn one day, even in the middle of these ruins,” she wrote.

Finally, Patrick Bruel published, Wednesday January 8, 2025, an Instagram story to reassure his subscribers, telling them that “there was no one” in the pied-à-terre that he bought in Pacific Palisades to get closer of Oscar and Léon, the children he had with the novelist Amanda Sthers (who has lived in Los Angeles since 2015).
