Google Forms Team to Build New AI Model

Meanwhile, Genie is Google’s version of the world model, an AI that can simulate games and 3D environments in real time.

Google’s latest Genie model, reviewed last December, can produce a variety of playable 3D worlds.

This new team will work to develop real-time generative tools on top of the models they built. Furthermore, they also studied how to integrate their model with existing multimodal models such as Gemini.

Google is not the only company attempting to model the world. Other companies such as World Lab owned by AI researcher Fei Fei Lee, Israeli startup Decart, and Odyssey are making similar efforts.

They believe that world models can be used to create interactive media such as video games and films, to run realistic simulations such as training environments for robots.
