For your information, Honor has finally officially made a comeback to the Indonesian market. Previously, the company left Indonesia in 2019 after a year of operation.
Regarding this special momentum, Justin Li as President of Honor South Pacific, explained the reasons for the return of the smartphone brand from China to the Indonesian cellphone market.
“Honor’s main global market has achieved extraordinary progress, and all overseas business has doubled. Indonesia is one of the few large-scale markets that Honor has not yet entered, and needs to start exploring,” said Justin to Tekno Liputan6.com , Tuesday (7/1/2025).
He assessed that Indonesia has strong cultural and linguistic similarities with Malaysia, and as the largest economy in Southeast Asia, Indonesia is developing with a large new middle class.
“We believe that the pace of development in Indonesia will continue to increase in the next five years, and the long-term growth of the middle class will also encourage demand for upper-middle class cellphones to increase in the next five years,” Justin added.
He explained that in the first three years in Malaysia, Honor has laid a strong foundation, especially in high-end breakthroughs.
“Honor is now the third largest brand in ‘Value’ market share after Apple and Samsung (based on GFK report in September 2024), laying a good foundation for further expansion into the Southeast Asian market. Entering Indonesia, Honor targets the high-end segment,” Justin said.
