The veteran game console company Atari and retro game equipment manufacturer My Arcade have cooperated to develop the latest handheld game console “Gamestation Go”. Today (3rd), a new trailer was released. It is expected to be officially unveiled at CES 2025 next week.
Atari is a pioneer in the fields of arcade games, home game consoles and PC video games. Its Atari 2600 helped popularize ROM cartridges on the market and successfully promoted the trend of consumer-grade devices installing microprocessors. However, it declared bankruptcy in 2013 and resurfaced in 2017. Since then, Atari’s new products have mainly suffered from poor sales.

Atari Gamestation Go has not disclosed specific hardware specifications, price, launch time and functional details. From the trailer, you can get a glimpse of the appearance of this new machine. In addition to the four-button shoulder buttons on both sides, there are also common joysticks and cross keys on the left side. Equipped with a trackball controller and a numeric keypad below the operation buttons on the right side.
Many classic Atari games are designed for use with basic controllers. The Gamestation Go’s X, Y, A, and B buttons appear to be backlit, and the other connectors include HDMI output, a headphone jack, and a microSD slot. Two USB-C ports can be used to connect external wired controllers to play multiplayer games.
The rest of the Gamestation Go design is almost the same as the information disclosed at CES 2024 last year (it had not yet been named at the time). This is not the first time Atari and My Arcade have cooperated to develop a game console. In 2023, the two parties cooperated to launch the “Atari GameStation Pro”, which has more than 200 retro games built-in. console games.
It is estimated that Gamestation Go can also play 10 to 100 Atari retro console works, and can be played without plugging in. More details will be revealed at CES 2025.
