These are the 3 Main Focuses of Minister of Communication and Technology Meutya Hafid to Encourage Digital Transformation Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045

Sustainable digital transformation requires an innovative and empowering ecosystem. The flagship Digital Talent Scholarship (DTS) program has trained more than 100 thousand digital talents in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI), cyber security and data analytics by 2024.

Next year, the Ministry of Communication and Technology is targeting an increase in participants to 200 thousand, with special attention to MSMEs.

As part of a collaboration with the private sector, the MSME Click & Grow program, involving Shopee and TikTok, was launched to help MSMEs adopt digital technology.

“The MSME sector is the spearhead of the digital economy. We want to ensure they not only survive, but grow in this era of transformation,” said Meutya.

Maintaining a Safe Digital Space

Digital space security is also a priority for the Minister of Communication and Technology. In the last two months, more than 250 thousand online gambling content has been blocked, thousands of illegal bank accounts closed, and influencer accounts promoting illegal activities cracked down on. Collaboration with PPATK and OJK strengthens this firm step.

“The digital space must be free from illegal activities that harm society. “We ensure that a safe digital space is a priority to protect children and families,” said Meutya Hafid.

As part of child protection, the Ministry of Communication and Technology together with the Ministry of PPPA are finalizing the draft regulations for Child Protection Management in the Implementation of Electronic Systems (TKPAPSE). This regulation will regulate the age-appropriate use of digital services.
