2024 marked the great return of spectators to theaters with French films like A little something extra, Le Comte de Monte Cristo, Love phew, In fanfare, but also American animated films Vice Versa 2 et Vaiana 2. These triumphs prove that the 7th art still attracts spectators to cinemas.
2025 looks just as promising with big names like Angelina Jolie, Renée Zellweger, Tom Cruise, Michael B. Jorda, Brad Pitt, Jackie Chan, Orelsan, Jean Dujardin and Scarlett Johansson who, it is certain, will have some nice surprises in store .
“A Bear in the Jura” by Franck Dubosc (released January 1)
Franck Dubosc changes his tone to A bear in the jura where he heads opposite Laure Calamy and Benoît Poelvoorde. This thriller with very dark humor confronts a couple in crisis with the drug traffickers whose loot they have stolen. It’s tender and naughty. In a word: successful!
“Le Dossier Maldoror” by Fabrice Du Welz (Released January 15)
This thriller very freely inspired by the Dutroux affair sends shivers down the spine. The Maldoror File follows the investigation of an idealistic police officer played Anthony Bajon into the disappearances of young girls in Belgium in the mid-1990s.
“Memory of a Snail” by Adam Elliot (released January 15)
The director of Mary and Max is back with Memory of a snail which won him the Grand Prix at the Annecy Festival. It tells the story of a boy feeling bad about himself in this gem where puppets bring eccentric and tender characters to life.
“Playing with Fire” by Delphine and Muriel Coulin (released January 22)
Vincent Lindon won the Venice Film Festival’s Best Actor Prize in the role of a father whose son lets himself be drawn into a far-right organization. This adaptation of What you need at nighta novel by Laurent Petitmangin is also carried by Benjamin Voisin.
“Better Man” by Michael Gracey (released January 22)
Robbie Williams turns into a monkey in Better Manan original biopic where the star appears in the form of a primate. He doesn’t spare himself in this eccentric story about a life that is no less eccentric. It’s simply magnificent.
“A Complete Stranger” by James Mangold (released January 29)
A complete stranger played by Timothée Chalamet is none other than Bob Dylan, whose early years we discover. James Mangold offers a golden role to “Timmy” to reveal how the singer/songwriter broke through in America in the mid-1960s.

Mr. Tuche father moves on to direct God Save The Tuche where he takes his family to England to meet the royal family. Jean-Paul Rouve is in front of and behind the camera for this new comedy which should be touched by British humor.
“Bridget Jones: Mad About Him” by Michael Morris (released February 12)
Renée Zellweger makes her comeback in Bridget Jones: very lazy. The heroine tries to give meaning to her life after the death of the one she loved. She’s going to have a hard time finding another prince charming.
“Sinners” by Ryan Coogler (released March 5)
Michael B. Jordan appears in a dual role for Sinners where he portrays twin brothers. He finds the director of both Black Panther for what promises to be a very intriguing fantasy film.

“Minecraft, the Movie” by Jared Hess (released April 2)
It is with curiosity nuanced with concern that we wait Minecraftthe film, adapted from the cult video game. The trailer left fans perplexed but we still really want to discover this world on the big screen.
“Mickey 17” by Bong Joon-ho (released April 16)
The director of Parasite is back for Mickey 17an English-language film where he directs Robert Pattinson and Toni Collette. The hero of this tantalizing science fiction film dies then is reborn through strange experiences whose significance he does not understand.
“Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” by Chistopher MacQuarrie (released May 21)
Well anyway! The second part of Dead Reckoning finally arrives in theaters. We know that the presence of Tom Cruise in the role of Ethan Hunt guarantees breathtaking action and suspense of the same metal. We can’t wait!

Brad Pitt will go “vroom” in F1 where Joseph Kosinski makes him take the shutter. He plays an aging pilot who teaches life and driving to a young recruit for this action film proving that he still has something under the hood.
“Jurassic World Rebirth” by Gareth Edwards (released July 2)
Scarlett Johnasson will face some very big beasts in Jurassic World Rebirth. He is the director of The Creationr, of Rogue One a you Godzilla of 2014 who leads this new version. It remains to be hoped that it will breathe new life into a bloodless franchise.
“The Naked Gun” by Akiva Schaffer (released on August 6)
For a funny idea, it’s a funny idea! Make a remake of Is there a cop to save the queen?crazy comedy with Leslie Nielsen and having Liam Neeson play the role is surprising. We really wonder what this will bring. Hence an intense curiosity.
“Marcel and Monsieur Pagnol” by Sylvain Chomet (released October 13)
What a joy to have news from Sylvain Chomet! The director of Belleville Triplets and of The Illusionist had become too rare. It is therefore with impatience that we hope for Marcel and Monsieur Pagnol where he will bring the author of The Glory of My Father back to life in animation.
The Shrinking Man by Jan Kounen (released October 22)
Jean Dujardin makes himself very small in The Shrinking Man. He sees his size diminish without being able to reverse or stop the process. Jan Kounen confronts him with a giant world in this new adaptation of a science fiction classic.
“Yoroï” by David Tomaszewski (released October 22)
Orelsan returns to the big screen for Yoroi who will take him to Japan to meet “Yokaïs”, spirits who are not always benevolent. He co-wrote the film with David Tomaszewski who directed several of his music videos.
“Kaamelott – Second part (part 1)” by Alexandre Astier (released October 22)
As Brice Fournier alias Kadoc told us, Kaamelott, second part by Alexandre Astier will be in two parts. King Arthur will be back with his fine team but the date of “the sequel to the sequel” has not yet been announced.
“Avatar Fire And Ash” by James Cameron (Released December 17)
We will have to wait another year to see the world in blue again with the rest ofAvatar. James Cameron took his time and we cannot blame this perfectionist director for refining his new work which will allow 2025 to end in style.
