The live-action movie version of “The Lonely Gourmet” + “The Child I Pushed” is confirmed to be released in Taiwan in early 2025

Film agent Cai Chang Asia recently announced that the live-action version of “The Lonely Gourmet Movie” will be released in Taiwan in the first quarter of 2025, and the live-action movie version of “The Child I Pushed” will also be released in Taiwan on January 17 of the same year. Cinemas open to the public.

“The Lonely Gourmet”

The original comic “The Lonely Gourmet” was serialized in the monthly magazine PANJA from 1994 to 1996. It was restarted in the weekly SPA! in 2008 and ended in 2015. It describes that Inokashira Goro, who is engaged in the business of imported furniture and groceries, often eats delicious food while traveling to various parts of Japan to discuss business or visit relatives and friends. The live-action adaptation was launched in 2012.

“The Lonely Gourmet Movie” will be directed by actor Matsushige, who plays Inokashira Goro, for the first time, and will be scripted by Yoshihiro Taguchi, who created the series.

“[The child I pushed]”

The original manga “[The Child I Pushed]” was written by Akasaka Akasaka and illustrated by Moego Yokugi. It was serialized in Shueisha Weekly Young Jump from April 2020 to November 2024. The plot describes Goro Amamiya, a doctor in a rural hospital, when his favorite idol “Ai” (Ai Hoshino) comes to him for treatment because of her pregnancy. However, before Xiao Ai gave birth, Goro was pushed off the cliff by an Esuke fan. When Goro opened his eyes, he found that he was reincarnated as one of Xiao Ai’s children…

The adapted live-action series will be exclusively broadcast globally on Prime Video on November 28 this year. Sumi serves as the director and the screenwriter of the live-action Japanese drama version “Swinging Camping△” and “Bicycle Shop Takahashi” Kitagawa Ayako. The movie version has the same cast as the Japanese drama version and will be released in Japan on December 20.
