Security in Jalisco: Four die in road mishaps in the ZMG in the last hours


At least four people have lost their lives in different events after being involved in road mishaps on roads in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area. One of the victims was a 14-year-old minor, who was traveling aboard a motorcycle.

The events occurred yesterday Monday afternoon on the Periférico, at the intersection with Calzada Independencia, under the overpass. I was traveling with another woman, approximately 18 years old, who apparently lost control of the vehicle and hit a tow truck. Unofficially, it was reported that none of the young women were wearing a helmet.

Another motorcyclist lost his life after a road accident that occurred at the intersection of Avenida Guadalajara and Juan Gil Preciado, in Zapopan, also yesterday afternoon, Monday. About the characteristics of the victim and how they occurred There were no further details regarding the facts.

Two other people died due to mishaps in Tonalá. The first of them lost her life after being hit by the driver of a vehicle that after the accident he fled. The events occurred at the intersection of the Highway to Zapotlanejo and the Periférico Nuevo. The victim was between 30 and 35 years old, and was recognized at the scene by her spouse. There is no further information about the responsible vehicle.

Finally, this Tuesday morning, in the La Jauja neighborhood of Tonalá, a crash occurred in which a “staquitas” type truck hit a retaining wall, also on the Highway to Zapotlanejo almost at the intersection with Avenida De las Roses. Although the driver, between 30 and 35 years old, was taken to an aid station, died while receiving medical attention, as reported by the Public Security Directorate of the municipality of Tonalá.

In all cases, the victims were transferred to the facilities of the Jalisciense Institute of Forensic Sciences waiting for a legal autopsy was performed and that they are officially identified by their relatives.

State authorities, including the State Council for the Prevention of Accidents in Jalisco (CEPAJ), have urged greater caution during the season, to avoid driving tired or under the influence of alcoholic beverages, and to wear a helmet when riding a motorcycle. and respect traffic signs and the maximum speed at all times.
