On the way to Santiago de Compostela, the pilgrim has basic needs: he wants to know where he will sleep and, above all, where he will be able to find food.
Because eating enough is absolutely decisive not only on a physical level but also for morale.
In the morning, he needs to start with a good breakfast to tackle the day’s task. Lunch, in general, is a picnic; the evening meal is the most anticipated because it is the moment when all the pilgrims meet at the same table to discuss their day and regain their strength.
Our reporter Gilles Donada went to Puy en Velay, Conques and Santiago de Compostela to ask pilgrims to tell me about their relationship with food.
