Holidays 2025: When is the next long weekend in Mexico?


The year is almost over and with this the 2024 holiday calendar will come to an end.

But if you are one of the lucky ones, you should keep in mind that there is still a long weekend or mandatory day of rest. Otherwise, if you already want to make plans for next year, take note, that 2025 includes these holidays. In addition, there are other non-working days and holidays for students.

The bridges of 2025, what day do they fall?

In accordance with the provisions of the Federal Labor Law, the last long weekend of 2024 corresponds to the December 25, for Christmas. This year, that date falls on a Wednesday.

For 2025, the holidays remain as follows:

The 2024-2025 school calendar for basic education in Mexico indicates that the Christmas vacation period runs from December 19, 2024 to January 8, 2025. Students return to school on January 9.

In 2025 they will also have holidays for Holy Week and Easter: they will leave on Friday, April 12 and return until Monday, the 28th of the same month.

The first holiday of 2025 is New Year’s Day, January 1. However, the first long weekend will be that of Monday, February 3, when the commemoration of the promulgation of the Mexican Constitution on the 5th is moved to that day of the week, and is combined with rest for some between Saturday the 1st and on Sunday the 2nd.

X. Saturdays and Sundays.
