Instagram will have an AI-based video editing tool next year

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Earlier this year, Meta previewed Movie Gen, a very realistic AI-based video editing tool. However, at that time, the company said the project was still in the development stage and had no plans to be available to users.

Nevertheless, quoted from EngadgetMonday (23/12/2024), there is a possibility that this feature will be coming to Instagram soon. This was revealed from the upload by the Head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri.

In his latest upload, he revealed a short video showing AI video editing capabilities that might be possible in the future. He said the company hopes to launch it on Instagram next year.

In the short video, Adam also said that Meta is currently working on several very interesting AI tools for video creators. “You should be able to do whatever you want with your videos,” he said.

The video also shows the possible capabilities that the technology will offer in the future. It was shown that Adam could change backgrounds and clothes with a fairly smooth transition.

Even though a little has been revealed, it is not impossible that there will be slight differences when the video editing capabilities are actually released. Unfortunately, Adam did not explain specifically when the Movie Gen feature would be released on Instagram.

Currently, Meta is known to be focusing on developing AI that is present in their services. The company also recently said that Meta AI users were approaching 600 million users per month.
