Liputan6.com, Jakarta – The government, through the Minister of Communication and Digital (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid, continues to innovate in the use of technology, especially Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The Minister of Communication and Technology stated that the Indonesian Government has currently formulated five main priorities for the National AI Strategy aimed at maximizing the potential of technology to encourage progress in various important sectors.
In a seminar entitled Optimizing the Use of AI in Public Works Infrastructure Development at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), West Java, Saturday 21 December 2024, Minister Meutya explained the five priorities.
The five priorities include: Health Services, Bureaucratic Reform, Talent Education, Smart Cities Mobility, and Food Security.
1. AI in Healthcare
“The use of AI in the health sector was started by the Ministry of Health, with a focus on expanding access and increasing diagnostic accuracy,” said Meutya.
He explained, “AI technology already supports early detection of disease and efficient management of disease rashes.” The application of the 4P model—predictive, preventive, participatory, and personal—in the health sector is believed to be able to improve the quality of health services and accessibility in Indonesia.
2. Encourage Bureaucratic Reform
In bureaucratic reform, AI is becoming a driving force for efficiency. The Minister of Communications and Technology revealed that several government agencies have utilized AI to speed up data processing.
“In the 2025 quarter, we will also launch SPBE Digital as an integrated service across ministries. Kemkomdigi has also used AI to monitor negative content on digital platforms.”
