The crime was almost perfect. Even in Tajueco, a tiny village in the Spanish province of Soria, nothing escapes the eye of the Google car. Last October, fifteen years after its last passage through the narrow streets of this godforsaken town of 56 souls, the famous white car covered with cameras filmed the incredible scene of a man loading a body into the trunk of his vehicle.
While passing through this street in Tajueco, the driver of the Google car probably did not notice the incongruity of the scene he was filming. And he therefore did not know that his images would help resolve an investigation opened more than a year ago into the disappearance of a Cuban national who lived in the village with his wife. The outcome also took place on Tuesday, according to the daily The Countrywith the discovery of the body of the missing person.
The lover betrayed by two compromising photos
The investigation therefore began in November 2023 with the report of the disappearance of the victim. Investigations initially yielded little until investigators began to suspect the wife and a man reputed to be her lover. This is where the Google Street view photo comes in, last October. Or rather the photos. In one we can clearly see the suspect throwing a large package shaped like a human body into the trunk of his car. In the second, the same man is carrying a large package in a wheelbarrow, El Pais tells us.
On November 12, the woman and her lover were arrested and placed in police custody. Except that they don’t give up and the victim’s body is still missing. But the investigation continued and the police finally discovered, on Tuesday, part of the husband’s remains. His body was dismembered and buried in the cemetery of Andaluz, a town near the village of Tajueco. The two suspects are kept in detention and investigations are continuing, in particular to find the other parts of the body but also to determine where, by whom and in what circumstances the husband was killed.
