Apple Reveals 2 Big Technology Trends in 2025: Are Indonesian Developers Ready?

The year 2025 will soon arrive in a matter of a few weeks, where many people are predicting what technology or innovation will become a trend next year.

Tim Liputan6.com also asked Esther Hare, Senior Director of Worldwide Developer Marketing at Apple.

Met at the Apple Developer Academy graduation ceremony in Jakarta, Esther shared information and predictions about what the technology industry, especially application development, will be like in 2025.

“I think artificial intelligence (AI) will still be a trend in 2025, especially in application development. You have to understand how to implement AI into applications,” said Esther.

Because of this, the Apple Developer Academy has made AI one of the main focuses of the curriculum.

“Academy students are not only taught to understand the basics of AI, but are also invited to use this technology to create applications relevant to society’s needs,” he said.

Esther gave an example with HerLens, where this application can be used for cervical cancer screening by combining AI to provide more accurate medical solutions.

Armed with knowledge in AI technology, developers are expected to be able to analyze new challenges and how they can overcome them.

“If they are able to find a solution to implement AI into their applications, it will certainly be extraordinary,” he said.

However, he also emphasized that the role of humans remains important. Academy students are encouraged to understand how to train AI models ethically and responsibly.

VisionOS Potential in the Future

Apart from that, Esther also revealed the potential of VisionOS in the future. Although adoption of this technology is still in its early stages, Apple has seen great enthusiasm for VisionOS in the global market, especially in the United States.

For developers in Indonesia, VisionOS can open up new opportunities for creating augmented reality (AR)-based applications and virtual reality (VR). Unfortunately, currently Apple Vision Pro is still not available for the Indonesian market.
