He National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) announced the results of the National Survey of Urban Public Safety (ENSU) for the period of the third quarter of 2024, this means during the months of July, August and September. The last weeks of the year will still be pending to complete the fourth quarter of the year and have the final data for 2024. However, with this information we can get an idea of ​​the places where the population encountered the most conflicts with their neighboring citizens.

Going into the data, 35.7% of the adult population had at least one conflict or confrontation during these three months of the year. The reason was mostly garbage thrown or burned by neighbors, representing 13.1% of the total of that figure, while the rest were due to noise with 12.8 percent.

The other types of conflicts that were considered by the survey are the following:

  • Conflicts in public or private transport
  • Gossip or misunderstanding

  • Conflicts over the purchase of private products and services

In general, there was a decrease in conflicts compared to the previous quarter.

What is the most conflictive city in Mexico?

The highest percentage of conflicts occurred in the Mexico City (CDMX) specifically in the Cuauhtémoc Mayor’s Office. 64.9% of the inhabitants of this region had at least one conflict during these three months. This mayorship was followed by the Azcapotzalco, Xochimilco, Gustavo A. Madero also within the CDMX.

After these mayoralties, The city where the most conflicts between citizens occurred was Querétaro capital, where 54.4 percent of the population confessed to having had a conflict in these three months.
