Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Apple has again surprised iPhone users by presenting a major update to the Voice Memos application.
Through the iOS 18.2 update which was rolled out on December 12 2024, Voice Memos is now equipped with a layered recording feature utilizing the sophistication of the A18 Pro chip.
Through this new Voice Memos feature, musicians and creators can use the iPhone 16 Pro series to develop song ideas more creatively.
“Powered by the A18 Pro chip, and utilizes advanced processing and machine learning to isolate vocal recordings,” wrote Apple in a statement, Friday (13/12/2024).
After that, Voice Memos creates two individual tracks so users can apply additional mixing and production in professional applications like Logic Pro.
Collaboration with Michael Buble and Carly Pearce
Apple also collaborated with Canadian singer and songwriter, Michael Buble, to introduce this new Voice Memos feature.
Together with country singer Carly Pearce and record producer Greg Wells, they show how the three of them recorded the song “Maybe This Christmas” using only an iPhone 16 Pro.
“I don’t think people realize the important role Voice Memos on the iPhone plays in the musician’s creation process,” Bublé said in a YouTube video on Apple’s channel.
For those of you who have an iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, this feature will automatically appear in Voice Memos after installing iOS 18.2.
Later, musicians can layer vocal tracks on top of recorded instruments or music without having to use headphones.
After that, the recording can be played directly via the iPhone speaker while the singer’s vocals can be recorded simultaneously via the iPhone 16 Pro series microphone.
“With Voice Memos on Mac, layered recordings can be synced across devices and available on Mac to drag and drop into a Logic Pro session,” Apple wrote.
This update opens up endless opportunities for music creators. Don’t miss the opportunity to try out this Voice Memos feature, and take your music ideas to the next level.
