“Pokemon GO” comes to Hong Kong for the first time, holding the “Pokemon GO City Safari Hong Kong” physical on-site event, and in-depth cooperation with the Hong Kong Tourism Board. Follow the footsteps of Eevee in the Hunting Hat and explore Hong Kong together!
Limited Pokémon
For “Pokemon GO” trainers, the most important thing is of course the event-limited Pokémon. The first is Mount Lamb. This is an exclusive Pokémon for the City Safari series of events. It can be encountered in ordinary wild maps and can also be hatched from the 7km egg in a friend’s gift pack.
Next is the Hunting Hat Eevee. The way to obtain it is quite special. You can get one through the special investigation mission obtained by purchasing a ticket. In addition, during the event period, special supply station signs with Eevee images at 6 specific attractions in Hong Kong can be flipped over to achieve the goal of daily limited-time investigation tasks.
This limited time mission requires up to 7 non-duplicate supply station signs. This time, Hong Kong has 6 scenic spots in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon City, Sha Tin, Hong Kong Island, Cheung Chau, and Ngong Ping. Each scenic spot has more than 2 to 4 With the special supply station sign, trainers only need to visit two or three attractions to achieve the mission goal. After collecting 7 Hunting Hat Eevee, the total reward will be 1 more.
Another item that has never appeared in Hong Kong is the pop-pop-style flower and dance birds limited to the Americas in the seventh generation of Pokémon. The image is like an American school cheerleading team.
Explore the whole city
Unlike previous Safari Zone events, which were limited to specific venues, City Safari is intended to allow trainers to explore more deeply every corner of the host city, so the entire city can enjoy the same overview of where Pokémon are.
There are main event booths next to the Hong Kong Cultural Center in Tsim Sha Tsui, where Pikachu and Eevee sunhats are distributed, and game-related decorations are concentrated here. This is also the most famous Victoria Harbor sea view spot in Hong Kong, with an endless stream of people.
Niantic also chartered a famous Hong Kong Island Ding Ding Car, which is a double-decker monorail, allowing trainers to shuttle between the lively attractions on Hong Kong Island.
Since the center of Hong Kong Island is a mountain, in order to ease transportation between high and low levels, the Hong Kong government built an escalator system from Central to Mid-Levels for pedestrians to use.
There is also a long-established Pottinger Street in the middle, also known as Stone Street, which has been widely used in Hong Kong movies, such as “Lust, Caution”, “October Siege” and other works.
The escalator leads to another historical attraction in Hong Kong: Tai Kwun, where there are buildings such as Hong Kong’s early police, judicial units and prisons that were built successively in the 19th century. They have been reorganized into a leisure gathering place for the people.
After visiting Tai Kwun, you can quench your cravings by eating egg tarts at the nearby bakehouse, or quench your thirst by drinking silk stockings milk tea and frozen lemon tea at Lan Fong Yuen.
Another famous attraction on Hong Kong Island is Victoria Peak, which is reached via a mountain cable car. The cable car is currently the sixth generation system. You can overlook Victoria Harbor here, the day and night views are beautiful, and you can also watch the sunset on the other side.
There is also a famous photo-taking spot in Kowloon City: Rainbow Village, which is an early public housing estate built in Hong Kong and is equivalent to Taiwan’s state housing or social housing.
The famous feature is of course its rainbow-colored exterior wall. The most suitable spot for taking pictures is on the stadium on the roof of one of the parking lots. You can feel the immersion of being surrounded by rainbows. “Pokemon GO” has a special supply station sign here. . The nearby Hong Kong MTR Choi Choi Station also has rainbow decorations on the pillars of the station, which is very suitable for taking pictures.
Don’t forget to go to Victoria Peak or Tsim Sha Tsui in the evening to enjoy the beautiful night view of Victoria Harbor.
