On the occasion of Pope Francis’ visit to Corsica on December 15, Emmanuel Macron will also go to Ajaccio, the Élysée announced on Wednesday December 11. The president will arrive at the end of the day and attend the departure ceremony of the Roman pontiff.
The two heads of state will discuss many international topics such as the war in Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East. They will also discuss the issues linked to climate change and the protection of biodiversity.
During the last papal visit to Marseille in September 2023, Emmanuel Macron and Francis had already discussed global geopolitics.
This will be the second interview of the year 2024. The two men met on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Borgo Egnazia in Italy during the month of June.
