ColorOS 15 was finally launched globally along with the debut of the Oppo Find X8 and X8 Pro in Bali, Indonesia, on November 21, 2024.
Appearing as an update to the previous ColorOS operating system, this Android 15-based OS brings a major overhaul that promises a smoother and smarter experience for Oppo users.
“ColorOS 15 is a big step towards the vision of a smarter and smoother mobile experience,” said Arne Herkelmann, Head of Product Management at Oppo, at the launch at The Meru Convention, Sanur.
New Visual Design and Optimized Performance
ColorOS 15 on Oppo cellphones comes with a fresh and minimalist visual design. Oppo overhauled more than 800 interface elements, presenting icons and widgets with natural color patterns but still looking modern.
“Armed with the Luminous Rendering Engine, this OS is able to provide 18 percent faster touch response and 40 percent better system stability,” explained Arne.
A new feature of ColorOS 15 is the Trinity Engine, optimizing CPU and system performance. This technology increases efficiency by up to three times, speeds up application launches, and extends battery life by up to 12 minutes longer.
