Five members of a family suffered serious burns after accidentally falling while walking on the banks of the Río Caliente, which can reach up to 70° degrees Celsius temperature, in the Spring Forest, in Zapopan.
According to reports, the family was walking near the hot springs when they fell into the river. A 5-year-old girl suffered burns all over her body and is in serious condition.
Meanwhile, two women, 38 and 48 years old, and two men, 40 and 50 years oldwere also injured. The latter went to the Forest entrance booth located on Bosque Avenue to request support after he suffered injuries to a large part of his body. The family went to the Santa Lucía Green Cross to receive further medical care.
The Río Caliente is one of the busiest tourist destinations during the winter season in the city due to its hot springs and the possibility of camping in the area, however, The temperatures are very high, so authorities urged the population to take extreme precautions when traveling along the margins of the body of water.
