The Ferrari horse with its hair on the posts. In the intense battle between the Italian team and McLaren, its British competitor, it was the latter who emerged the big winner at the end of a crazy season. And for that, McLaren can thank Lando Norris, winner of the last Grand Prix of the season in Abu Dhabi.
Leader of the race from start to finish, the Briton left no room for suspense, even if Ferrari fought well until the end with a double podium for the Spaniard Carlos Sainz and the Monegasque Charles Leclerc, who delivered a recital by moving up from 19th to 3rd place. It’s a huge moment in history for McLaren, which hasn’t won the constructor’s title since 1998.
Hamilton bids farewell to Mercedes
On the French side, while Esteban Ocon was not there after being thrown out badly before the last GP of the year by Alpine, Pierre Gasly finished in a good 7th place. It allows Alpine to maintain its 6th place in the manufacturers’ ranking.
Max Verstappen finished 7th this Sunday while Lewis Hamilton, who was competing in his last GP under the colors of Mercedes, overtook his teammate George Russell at the very end of the race to take 4th place.
