Cold front No. 13 will begin to dissipate over the Gulf of Mexico on Monday, while the polar trough will weaken over the southern United States. These conditions will favor a rise in temperatures in the afternoons and a decrease in rain.
When does cold front 14 enter the country?
At the end of Monday, Cold front No. 14 will approach the northwest and northern border of Mexican territoryagain associated with the polar and subtropical jet streams, marking the beginning of a new climatic episode.
Starting Tuesday, cold front No. 14 will advance through the northwest, north and northeast of the country, reaching the Gulf of Mexico at the end of the day. During its journey, heavy rains are expected in Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, Hidalgo, Puebla and Veracruz, accompanied by a notable drop in temperatures and intense gusts of wind in the northern regions. In addition, a “North” event is expected with winds of up to 100 km/h on the coast of Tamaulipas, which will extend to the north of Veracruz during the early hours of Wednesday.
This new system will bring with it extreme minimum temperatures in various mountainous areas of the country. For early Tuesday morning, values of -15 to -10 °C are expected in Chihuahua and Durango; from -10 to -5 °C in Baja California and Sonora; from -5 to 0 °C in Zacatecas and the State of Mexico, and from 0 to 5 °C in Coahuila, Michoacán, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Tlaxcala, Puebla and Oaxaca.
