According to Telkomsel, this digital activity was driven by the distribution of information related to the regional elections, including monitoring of fast count results which contributed to increasing data traffic at a number of strategic points.
In terms of areas where internet traffic increased, the most occurred in the Paniai Regency KPU area which increased by around 30 percent, the Sumatra area increased by 14.39 percent, the Jabotabek area in West Java increased by 10.78 percent, the Java Bali Nusra area which increased by around 9.39 percent, and the Papuaska area rose by around 9.95 percent.
Telkomsel’s Vice President of Global Network Operations, Juanita Erawati, said, “The spike in traffic that occurred during the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections is proof of public trust in the quality of Telkomsel’s digital services.”
Juanita said, “We continue to be committed to providing the best network and services to support the communication and information access needs of the community, especially in important moments for democracy like this.”
For your information, during the period 25-29 November 2024, Telkomsel supports the smooth running of the Simultaneous Regional Elections by improving the network performance of 657 busy points or PoIs throughout Indonesia. This includes the KPU office, Bawaslu, as well as police and military offices.
