Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Gemini, a chatbot made by Google, is said to have succeeded in attracting the interest of users, including in Indonesia. Moreover, the chatbot now supports Indonesian since June 2024.
According to Gemini Group Product Manager Jules Walter, Indonesian users have used Gemini for various things. In fact, Google noted that there are several examples of the use of Gemini which are quite popular in Indonesia.
“It’s really interesting to see how useful this technology is. Specifically in Indonesia, we found there are several examples of the most frequent use of (Gemini),” said Jules at a press conference held in Jakarta.
Jules said that one application of Gemini AI that is quite popular is as an academic aid. He said he had spoken to a number of students who told him about how Gemini helped them learn learning material.
“For example, there were several people who asked for further information about the periodic table. Then, there were also those who asked (Gemini) to make a quiz on that topic,” he said further.
Apart from academic needs, Gemini is also said to help its users to do things brainstorming. For example, there are teachers who use this chatbot to exchange ideas about interesting ways to teach certain topics.
Another interesting thing, according to Jules, is that there are several users who use Gemini to just chat or ask for advice.
“Then, we also saw that people also asked (Gemini) for advice, just like they would with other people,” he explained. Jules said, this makes Google Gemini have a fairly personal approach.
Not only these three tasks, Gemini is also often used to explore content, translate, help users work smarter, create media, write, code, and even shop.
“At Google, our goal and mine personally is to give everyone access to AI, and to do it in a bold and responsible way,” he said in closing the statement.
