She has not given any sign of life since November 25 and her departure from the family home in Pabu, near Guingamp (Côtes-d’Armor). Ten days later, the question is on everyone’s lips: where is Morgane Rivoal? The disappearance of the 13-year-old remains an enigma. Particularly publicized, the case is taken very seriously by the national gendarmerie, who have deployed significant resources to try to find her. “No one will let down their guard,” assured the public prosecutor of Saint-Brieuc Nicolas Heitz on Monday evening. Hunts involving many citizens have already been organized to try to find her. In vain.
Tuesday evening, a citizen initiative emerged on social networks, evoking a hunt in Bourbriac, a town located more than 15 kilometers from Pabu. Problem: the gendarmes have never targeted this sector. The idea did not come from them but from a medium, who explained having had “visions”. Relayed on TikTok, his video led to the organization of a hunt. Who gave nothing.
According to the first elements of the investigation, the disappearance of Morgane Rivoal would be linked to the use of social networks. It is for their immoderate use that an argument broke out on Sunday November 24 between Morgane and her parents. Friends and acquaintances spoke of the young girl’s “addiction” to social networks, on which she had met “older men”. It is also through social networks that this story of medium emerged.
“I felt leaves on me”
On TikTok, a woman followed by just over 6,000 people spoke of her visions. “There I saw a forest. Well no, I felt leaves on me. And I heard Jules-Ferry college. » The famous clairvoyant then researched where this college could be located and came across the town of Bourbriac. “I felt the strangulation,” she adds in a shaky monologue.
The broadcast of this particularly popular video led to a citizen raid in the town of Bourbriac, which produced nothing. According to the instigator of the search, around twenty people were present, but not the police. The police had seen this call and obviously did not wish to participate. “We will never base an investigation on the words of a clairvoyant,” Commander Jean-Baptiste Gautier informed our colleagues at West France. According to the gendarmerie officer, several clairvoyants and mediums have contacted his services since the disappearance. “They never talk about the same places, they are very vague,” criticizes the gendarme.
The teenager’s mother, who posts a photo of her daughter on Facebook every day, asked people to “stop spreading false information on social networks so that we can move forward.” In a basket in the teenager’s room, a crumpled sheet was found. Morgane had written there: “Dad, mom, sorry, I’m leaving.” Judicial information to search for the causes of the disappearance. “At this stage, all avenues are being considered. None is privileged,” recalled the prosecutor.
The call for witnesses still open
Aged 13, Morgane measures 1.54 m. She is of normal build, has long wavy brown hair and blue/green eyes. She would be carrying a pink Eastpak bag. Anyone likely to help investigators is invited to contact the gendarmerie by dialing 17. An email address has been created: morgue@gendarmerie.interieur.gouv.fr.
