Norwegian WWII film about real war hero comes to Netflix – Paudal

Netflix has acquired the rights to NR. 24 (2024) and will soon release the Norwegian war film, based on a true story, on the streaming service. Who is Gunnar Sønstebye and how important was he for Norway during World War II?

Young student Gunnar Sønsteby from Rjukan decides to stand up to Nazi Germany on the day of the invasion and later becomes the leader of the “Oslo Gang”, carrying out numerous daring acts of sabotage that makes him Norway’s greatest war hero.

Well-known Scandinavian cast

The war film is directed by John Andreas Andersen, who previously produced episodes of Occupied (2015–2019), The North Sea (2021) in The Quake (2018) directed. The leading roles are for Karppi actor August Wittgenstein, Wonder Woman actress Lisa Loven Kongsli, Royalteen actress Ines Høysæter Asserson and House of the Dragon actor Max Wrottesley.
