Fans of manga and Japanese anime take note, because Netflix will be launching an adaptation of a nationally popular series in early 2025. Sakamoto Days (2025– ) is about a legendary ex-hitman who runs an ordinary convenience store in his daily life.
No rest for a long time yet
Taro Sakomoto has deliberately left his previous life as a ‘hitman’ behind him, and if it were up to him, from now on he will mainly bring quality time with his family. A number of hitmen who know Taro from the past think differently. A number of them have united under the name ‘The Order’, and are busy killing difficult types on a daily basis.
Popular kick-off
In Japan, publisher Shueisha started publishing Sakamoto mangas in the magazine in 2020 Weekly Shonen Jump. The series was a success and now there is the series, under the creative leadership of Masaki Watanebe (direction), Taku Kishimoto (composition) and Yo Moriyama (character design). Tomokazu Sugita voices the assassin.
According to the streaming service, we can expect “epic battles, but also funny and heartwarming situations”:
