According to what was announced in the morning conference, this is how the minimum wage will look as of January 1, 2025:
- In the Free Zone of the Northern Border the salary will go from 374.89 pesos to 419.88 pesos (44.99 pesos more)
- In the General Minimum Wage Zone it will go from 248.93 pesos to 278.80 pesos. (29.87 pesos more)
This means that, by 2025, Mexicans will be earning approximately 8 thousand 364 pesos monthly.
Marath Baruch Bolaños, Secretary of Labor and Social Security, indicated that this is decreed the 12% increase in minimum wages throughout the country, whose objective is to achieve a minimum wage that meets the 2.5 basic baskets.
He explained that compared to the year 2024, the three most consumed products in the basic basket can now be purchased more: in the year 2024, 4.9 kilos of beans could be consumed with this salary, With the increase in 2025, 5.3 kilograms can be purchasedIn the case of eggs, 5.5 kilos of eggs could be purchased in 2024, in 2025 there will be 5.6, and 11.9 kilos of omelette will increase to 13.2 kilos.
