After the live-action Japanese drama “Hokkaido Tattoo Prisoner Contest” adapted from Satoshi Noda’s comic book “Golden Kamui” (“Golden Kamui”) was broadcast, the second part of the movie version was announced. The cast of the movie version is the same as that of the Japanese drama version.

“Golden Kamui” has been serialized since August 2014. The cumulative sales volume of the single volume has exceeded 19 million copies. The final chapter is expected to be published in the combined issue of Weekly Young Jump 22&23, which will be released on the 28th of this month, ending the approximately 8-year serialization. The final chapter of the TV animation is in production.
The setting of this story is Hokkaido, where the “Gold Rush” was popular in the late Meiji period of Japan. The protagonist “Immortal Sugimoto” Sugimoto Saichi, who killed countless enemies in the Russo-Japanese War, dreams of getting a lot of gold, and meets the Ai slave girl Asirpa. After meeting, the two decided to work together to find clues to Ainu’s hidden treasure.
