Kemkomdigi and Microsoft Prepare 1 Million AI Talents Through ElevAIte Indonesia

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) of the Republic of Indonesia, together with Microsoft, officially launched the ambitious ElevAIte Indonesia program.

This initiative aims to train 1 million talents in the country in artificial intelligence (AI) skills, strengthening the national digital ecosystem.

Apart from that, this collaboration also aims to prepare the younger generation to face the era of technological transformation.

Improving AI Competency in Various Sectors

ElevAIte Indonesia combines the meanings of “elevate” and “AI”, signifying efforts to improve the quality of national human resources through technology.

This program involves various parties, including government, industry, educational institutions and communities.

With five main pillars, ElevAIte includes AI training for state officials, AI integration in the industrial sector, AI-based education, and AI democratization for all levels of society.

Minister of Communications and Digital (Menkomdigi), Meutya Hafid, emphasized the importance of a wise approach in AI adoption.

“Modern technology, such as AI, requires all of us, especially leaders, to be wiser, patient and accommodating,” said Meutya, in her official statement, Tuesday (3/12/2024).

“The development of AI provides great opportunities to improve the quality of life, but also brings challenges that must be managed carefully,” he said.

In order to achieve the target of 1 million AI skills training for the Indonesian people by 2025, the implementation of ElevAIte Indonesia will be divided into five main pillars, with Biji-Biji Initiative and Dicoding as training partners.
