For your information, Threads experienced significant growth throughout November, where it managed to receive 35 million registrations (new users).
Meta’s social media platform claims to have received more than one million registrations every day for the last three months.
Previously, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri announced 15 million registrations for November in the middle of the month. Then Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently told investors that the app has more than 275 million monthly active users.
Meanwhile its rival social media app, Bluesky, has grown rapidly and received a lot of positive press coverage. However, it is worth noting that Bluesky has just crossed the 20 million user mark.
Threads amassed 20 million users in about a day after launch, even though the app is fully supported by Meta, in this case Facebook and Instagram.
Bluesky itself gained popularity through word of mouth. Interestingly, Threads is starting to emulate some of Bluesky’s existing features.
The platform recently introduced custom feeds and the ability to change the default feed for people you follow.
Mosseri admitted that they have started developing certain features that are already in the works.
Both Threads and Bluesky could be said to want to be the next X. However, X seems to be a ‘garbage dump’ full of complaints, pornbots and annoying advertisements.
