Priscilla Franco and Salvador Zamora left their seats in the Citizen Movement parliamentary faction in the Congress of Jalisco to go to the state Executive that Pablo Lemus will lead as of December 6.
Both legislators will leave their positions to join the Secretariats of State: Franco Barba will assume the Secretariat of the Social Assistance System while Zamora Zamora will go to the General Secretariat of Government with Pablo Lemus.
Ana Fernanda Hernández will replace Priscilla Franco while María Bravo Navarro replaced Salvado Zamora.
Both Franco and Zamora received farewell words from Verónica Jiménez of Movimiento Ciudadano; Tonatiuh Bravo, coordinator of Hagamos; Claudia Murguía, PAN coordinator; and Candelaria Ochoa, from Morena, who wished them success and compliance with the demands of the Jalisco population in their assignments.
Priscilla Franco was a deputy since 2018 having won the 2018, 2021 and 2024 elections for districts 14 and 8 of Guadalajara, making it clear that they will have the doors open to dialogue for all parties:
“Not only the parliamentary group of the Citizen Movement can count on us to put all the commitment, humility and work that is necessary. Of course we need critical eyes, a strong Legislative Branch and not only criticism, but proposals.”
On another issue, the State Congress endorsed 78 municipal income laws that were pending approval. The Citizen Movement deputy, Gabriela Cárdenas, explained that most of the rulings contemplate increases of 5 percent in taxes, the average of inflation.
Others such as Juanacatlán, Mexticacán or Unión de Tula did not have increases in taxes such as property taxes, while in Mezquitic there was an increase of up to 10 percent, so there was a need to lower it to 7 percent after agreements, said the Emecista legislator.
