The party was in full swing in Trouville (Calvados) to celebrate the Christmas lights when a metal structure supporting a magnificent articulated bird collapsed on the crowd attending the event, injuring 12 people. The incident took place around 7 p.m. near the Trouville Casino when hundreds of residents had gathered on this festive Saturday evening. It was the Planète Vapeur company, a Nice-based company specializing in the construction of monumental self-propelled mechanical structures, which designed this spectacular bird.
According to our colleagues at West Francethe tank carrying the aerial bird would have been unbalanced when approaching a bend. The provisional report shows two more seriously injured people (without their lives being in danger) as well as 10 more lightly injured people and dozens of shocked spectators.
