The initially largely positive assessment of the Netflix film Spellbound (2024) has been slightly adjusted, but now there are also critical comments about the film. Nevertheless, this has not detracted from the popularity of the production. In fact, Spellbound has managed to keep its head above water and entered the worldwide Netflix Top 10.
King and queen in distress
Spellbound is one of the most recent successful Netflix films and follows the adventures of Princess Ellian. Ellian is going through a complex time. She must save her family and her kingdom after a mysterious curse turned her parents into monsters. In the week of November 18 to 24 Spellbound viewed no less than 8.5 million times. The animation currently ranks third in the global Netflix top 10.

Spellbound is directed by Vicky Jenson who led a stellar all-star cast including Rachel Zegler, John Lithgow, Jenifer Lewis, Nathan Lane, Nicole Kidman, Javier Bardem and Olga Merediz.
