The TV animation “Monomon” was released in July 2007. It is the continuation of the chapter “Chanma” of the previous work in the “noitaminA” series “Mono~ayakashi~” and was produced by Toei Animation. The theatrical version of “Monster” will be animated by TWIN ENGINE EOTA.
The movie was originally scheduled to be released in 2023. However, after the affair of the protagonist voice actor Sakurai Takahiro spread, the official decided to postpone the release and replace the drug seller voice actor with Kamiya Hiroshi.
The plot of the theatrical version of “Monomon” is that the protagonist “Medicine Seller” enters Ooku (the deepest women’s room in Edo Castle), in order to fight against the “Tang Umbrella” monsters bred from the negative emotions bred in Ooku, and save these faces. Due to their inner struggles and pain, they are female middle school girls (female officials) who are forced to join a murderous group.
