Last Thursday, November 28, the head of the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena), Ricardo Trevilla Trejoreported that the works on the AIFA-Pachuca train will begin in 2025. Additionally, works on the Querétaro-Irapuato and Saltillo-Nuevo Laredo sections will be put out to tender.
In the morning conference of the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the owner highlighted that at the moment the progress of the construction of the “four railways of the first package” is 70 percentage points.
From when will the AIFA-Pachuca train operate?
Regarding the construction strategy, the general director of the Railway Transport Regulatory Agency (ARTF), Andrés Lajous Loaezaexplained that the project will be divided into four phases.
The first of them, which will consist of 786 kilometers of route, will include the following sections:
- AIFA-Pachuca: 54 kilometers
- Mexico-Querétaro: 242 kilometers
- Saltillo-Nuevo Laredo: 306 kilometers
- Querétaro-Irapuato: 184 kilometers
Of these routes, the first two will be built by the military.
Thus, the construction of the AIFA-Pachuca railway will begin between the months of March-April of next year, contemplating a limit of one year and three months, according to Gustavo Ricardo Vallejo Suárez, commander of the “Felipe Ángeles” group of Engineers. .
What will be the route of the AIFA-Pachuca train?
The AIFA-Pachuca train route is expected to depart, of course, from Felipe Ángeles Airport and continue through the following municipalities:
- Zumpango.
- Tecámac.
- Nextlalpan.
- Temascalapa.
- Tizayuca.
- Zapotlán.
- Zempoala.
- Villa de Tezontepec.
- Jaltocan.
- Pachuca de Soto.
- Reform Ore.
It has been reported that the transport will reach design speeds of 120 km/h and will have stops at strategic points, established based on demand studies.
