Minister of Communication and Technology Appoints National Police Officer as Plt. Director General of Digital Space Supervision, Who?

Previously, at the 2024 International Digital Dialogue Conference (IDDC) in Berlin, Germany, the Indonesian Minister of Communication and Digital (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid emphasized the importance of basic principles in digital transformation which include inclusivity, empowerment and trust.

“Digital transformation must be driven by fundamental principles such as inclusivity, empowerment and trust,” said the Minister of Communication and Technology, quoted Monday (25/11/2024).

Therefore, he continued, the Indonesian government (especially Komdigi), prioritizes providing reliable and affordable internet access for all citizens, creating a digital economic ecosystem that empowers society, and increasing media and digital literacy among the public.

The presence of the Minister of Communication and Technology at IDDC 2024 was not only to share views at this conference, but also to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Komdigi and the German Ministry of Digital and Transportation, as well as holding a number of strategic bilateral meetings.

For your information, this MoU is a continuation of the progress of the annual Indonesian-German Digital Dialogue (IGDD) forum which in 2023 produced a Joint Declaration of Intent (JDoI) on Cooperation in the Field of Digitalization.

In the MoU signed by the Minister of Communication and Technology, Meutya Hafid, with the German Minister of Digital and Transportation, Volker Wissing, six areas of strategic cooperation were agreed.

These include digital policies and strategies, data policies, internet processes and governance, digital technology, sustainable digital transformation, and digital inclusion, including the development of digital economic infrastructure and internet accessibility.
